My Year in Review

I am in the process of changing the look of Bree Hester Photography and I was making a new splash page for my website.  I created this collage using this template and was going to have this as the main image but changed my mind.  After taking a good look at it, I have had the BEST year.  I met a ton of new families, shot my first weddings, held new babies, celebrated first birthdays, seriously could my job be any better?

I am really looking forward to 2010 and all of the changes that it has in store for me.  I can’t wait to see what other things come my way.  Thank you for being a part of my 2009.  Thank you for taking time out of your day to come here and see what I am up to.  I love it and I love you.  I hope that 2010 is the best year ever for you.

xoxo,

Bree

Under Construction…

Please excuse the appearance of my blog and website.  I am in the process of making some changes to all of my “places” and it will take a day or two to get one cohesive look.

Well Bree, your previous look was adorable, why would you want to change it?  Good question.  Because it was not “me”.  It does not reflect my personality or how I want my business to be portrayed.  I like clean, modern and simple.  I like my pictures to do the talking.  I love white.  I love calm and I really love peaceful.  I decided that it was time to change it up.

When it is all said and done, do me a favor, tell me what you think…

Because posts are lonely without pictures here are a few outtakes from my Christmas card picture shoot.  I have never been more proud of my children.  Our shoot was 12 minutes from first frame to last and they were AWESOME!  I got a ton of cute ones and all it cost me was a trip to Big Spoon.

6 months

Here is your monthly dose of Matthew…. I love this baby.  He is super cute, quick to smile and look at those rolls… is there anything cuter?  I don’t think so.  It was hard to choose this month.

A Day of Rest

Whew… this holiday season was busy and crazy and wonderful and exhausting all at the same time.  We had a really nice Christmas yesterday.  The kids woke up at a reasonable time and we opened presents and ate a delicious coffee cake and then I spent a bit in the kitchen getting ready for Christmas dinner.  I really wanted to make this Christmas special so I set a pretty table and used all of my good china and silver.  It really looks so pretty that I wonder why we only use it for special occasions?  We had a truly wonderful evening with friends and could not have asked for more.  I hope that you all had as nice of a holiday as we did.

Today, we did nothing.  By nothing I mean laying on the couch watching movies and trying to get rid of our headaches from the delicious Champagne drinks that we consumed.  They were worth the headaches. :)

I splurged this year and bought myself a point and shoot camera.  I really wanted a camera that we could stick in our pockets and not have to think much when using it.  I love my big camera (my Nikon D700) but sometimes I miss taking pictures of things because I am too lazy to lug my gear around.  So after much research I bought a Panasonic Lumix LX3.  It is a fun little camera and some of the pictures are taken with it.  I am not telling which ones, you will have to guess…

Yes, that is a toothbrush in Clay's mouth. It lights up and he loves it and would not put it down for me to take pictures. What are you gonna do?
