There is something to be said for… [Sacramento Child Photographer]

keeping your camera in the car.  I have been trying to shoot more this week and really pay attention to exposure, focus, etc… I think that some things for a photographer come naturally, like compostition and seeing the world through a lens, but the technical side is something that I have to work at sometimes.  So I designate certain days or weeks as practice weeks and I give myself an assignment to work on.  This week it is shooting wide open and getting the eyes in focus.  Not too bad… Back to the car… anyway, I was getting the kids out of the car, not really feeling like bring my camera, but at the last second before I shut the door I decided to grab it.  I am so glad that I did or I would have missed these.

My Crazy Boys [Sacramento Child Photographer]

Just hanging out today waiting to pick up Ava from her last day of school.  Now that I am feeling better, I promise to take more pictures this week.  Amazing how the flu can wipe out creativity as well…

Pizza and Yogurt [Davis Child Photographer]

Tonight we went to Davis for some pizza and to go the Farmer’s Market.  Last year we used to go to the Wednesday night Farmer’s Market all the time because they used to let the kids run around in the fountains and splash and have a ball… it was more like shoots of water that came out of the ground and not so much a fountain, but you get the idea.  Anyway, they are now COVERED UP.  Imagine the outrage that came from the 4 little people that wanted to get some relief from a 100+ day.  So we went to a yogurt place across the street instead and did manage to find a fountain to get wet in later.  I LOVE this picture of Ava… she is so mad at me because I would not let her put her bathing suit on.  What you cannot see is that the car is about 50 feet from where she is standing and this is about 30 seconds before the other mom and I decided that it was time to go.  She let me know how angry she was at me because here was an opporunity to wear a new bathing suit ruined.

I Left My Stomach In San Francisco [San Francisco Child Photographer]

We spent a lovely day in San Fran today.  We met our good friends Emily and Greg for lunch at Taylor’s Automatic Refresher in the Ferry Terimal Building.  The garlic fries are my favorite.  Yum.  Good friends, good food, and cheap beer.  We went to an antique store that I read about on a blog that I stalk read daily.  Bought something cute for an upcoming shoot.  Drove around a truly gorgeous city.  Stopped at Fenton’s on the way home for dinner.  Ordered the largest SMALL sundae that I ever seen in my life.  Had a truly perfect day with my little family.  Aside from the self-inflicted stomach ache.
