Will was not feeling well today so he stayed home with us. Wes just got back from a trip so he had the day off too. It was a treat to have a family day in the middle of the week. Wes took Ava and Clay to the gym and Will and I decided to make our favorite cookie ever, the Snickerdoodle. Will had been asking me for awhile to make them with him so this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I am trying to make a binder with my favorite recipes to pass on to my children someday. My mom is an AMAZING cook and so many of my childhood memories (and adult ones) are of her in the kitchen making something delicious. The problem is that I would like to recreate these things that I love so much but she never writes the recipes down or measures. So, someday I will get her to nail down some of my favorites, but in the meantime, I am making some recipes books for my kids when they grow up.
This recipe was given to me by my friend Carrie. When we had Clay, we were so incredibly lucky to be showered with meals from our friends at Tiny Tots. Carrie brought these over not knowing that the Snickerdoodle is my favorite cookie . I immediately had to have the recipe. This Snickerdoodle is light and delicate. It had a good crunch on the outside yet is soft and airy on the inside. I hope that she doesn’t mind me sharing…
