![]() ![]() Meet John. He is our own personal elf. He watches the children all day and at night reports to Santa if they have been naughty or nice. Every morning, he appears in a new place for us to find him. He is a tricky one… this morning he was on a super high shelf that made it difficult to take his picture. If you do not have Elf on the Shelf, do yourself a favor and get one. The story is adorable and the kids really do believe that he is reporting to Santa. He just came back to our house last night and already I have heard a “John is watching, he is going to tell Santa that you are being bad.” Here is to a wonderful beginning to another holiday season. edited to add… I just visited the Elf on the Shelf website for the first time and it is adorable too. We registered our elf and have official adoption papers!

![]() ![]() A few months ago, I sent a newsletter out to my friends and clients. I asked them to do me a favor. Think of someone that they know that deserves custom photography that cannot afford it and tell me their story. I would give the winners a free session with the disk of images. I cannot take credit for this amazing idea, it is part of a movement called Giving is Awesome. Let me tell you, they are right. Giving IS awesome. This family has a story and I do not think that it is really mine to tell, but I will tell you this. Trust your gut. If you feel like something is amiss in your body – RUN, do not walk to have it checked out. Right this instant, hug and kiss all over your babies and if your husband or wife is next to them, all the better. Do something fun with your day and make some memories. Take a picture and write on the back of it where you were and what you did. Be grateful for the life that you have been given and live your life fully. You just never know what is coming around the corner. This precious family was a dream to work with and the love between them obvious. It was my gift to be able to spend a lovely, quiet morning with the 4 of you. I wish you all of the best and hope that we can do it again soon.

![]() ![]() These people are all over this blog. I take a monthly picture of Matthew and it is the highlight of my month. I love these people. Truly, they are the kind of friends that one dreams to have. A few weeks ago, when our lives were all over the place Corey was the first one to call me and see how I was doing and what I needed. I was complaining about having nothing to wear to memorials and such and lo and behold the next day she showed up on my doorstep with options for me to wear. It was one less thing for me to worry about and it something that a TRUE friend would do for another. On the day of this session, we met at a local park and they came prepared! Blankets, clothing options, you name it. They also came in a great mood and we were having so much fun that it really shows in these pictures and I am proud of them. They show how happy they are. How much they love their children and the connection that they have. I am always in awe of these two people. I have never in my life seen two people with such patience and respect for their children. I look up to them as parents and hope that someday I will be graced with the patience that they both have. Not to mention their ability to whip out a blue guitar and rock out. Really, they could be the next Partridge family. Or the new Wiggles. Hmm….
