How cute is this family? How awesome is this mom for calling me because she wants to have a family session done before her daughter’s front teeth fall out? I think pretty awesome because it is something that I would totally do. We spent a great afternoon at the river throwing rocks in the water and laughing a lot. This dad is hands-down the best rock skipper I have ever seen. Who else can skip a rock 8+ times in a row? Amazing.
Hello Boyfriend. Happy 8 month birthday my not-so-little love bug. I am going to be so sad when you turn one and your mom doesn’t bring you to see me every month. Can we still go on our lunch dates?
In all seriousness. I love this baby. I love this family. I am so lucky that I get to see this gorgeous child grow up.
How I love baby chub. (Sigh.) Even better than baby chub is sitting baby chub. As a parent, and as a photographer, this probably my most favorite baby stage. Little personalities are developing along with small accomplishments like being able to hold oneself upright. Eating things that are not entirely liquid. Baby babble. Cute clothes. (Why is it that clothes that are tiny are so stinking cute?) This age is truly wonderful. I cannot wait for next month. The love affair continues…

This lovely senior was a breathe of fresh air. Chelsea is not only beautiful on the outside, she is also beautiful on the inside. We spent a nice afternoon together and I learned that she is funny and well spoken and honestly, I hope that my daughter turns out as well as she has. She is a natural in front of the camera with a great sense of style. She is an artist that loves photography with a soft spot for graphic design. Two peas in a pod. Except I am almost old enough to be her mother. Oh my.
Two beautiful people, a fun concept, it really could not make my job any more fun. I love when people come to me and are open to anything and have an idea of their own. It is really fun to collaborate and make some really meaningful and beautiful images.
These were inspired by a picture that is very special to me. It was taken about a year ago and it has some of our friends that we lost in it. Although I did not take that picture, I edited it and made it look old and it is one of my favorites. When Autumn came to me and wanted to recreate this type of picture I have to be honest, I was not sure how I felt about it. The original is meaningful to me and I was not sure if I could do it again. I am glad in the end that she pushed me to do it because I really, really love these and in some way they have healed some of my wounds surrounding this airplane. So thank you Autumn and Kevan for making me love the Herc again.
Sorry to digress, back to originally scheduled programming… I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in North Carolina. Autumn is going to be a gorgeous bride don’t you think?
I love newborns. I love the smell. I love the cuddling. I love the coos. I love everything about newborns. This one was no exception. Sweet as can be and his parents are pretty awesome too. […]
Sorry that I am posting this so late. I lost my hard drive this weekend and it was a bit of a bummer. But I am very happy to announce the winner of my Family Session Giveaway. Drum roll please….. Monick Sanchez! I cannot wait to meet you and your family to capture some memories […]
A few days ago, one of my clients sent me an email that her husband had passed away and that the pictures that I had taken of them as a family are even more cherished now. This news has really rocked my world. This was a young father and husband, a sweet, funny, handsome man […]
I have not blogged in a long time. Shame on me. I have been working a lot and with the kids out of school, it seems my blogging has fallen to the wayside. I promise that I will be a better blogger from now on. I do blog a lot on my other website, Baked […]
Autumn and Kevan are a gorgeous couple that had a gorgeous wedding. 90 of their closest friends and family came to the Hawkesdene House in Andrews, NC to celebrate this day with them. I spent the weekend with them, knowing no one other than the bride and groom and came home with 88 new friends. […]
