Charleston

I have talking a lot over the last few days about my beloved Charleston, SC over at my other website, bakedbree.com.  Wes and I left our children for the first time ever to go to my friend Stacy’s wedding.  We went back to the city where we met and fell in love.  It is a very special place for us.  We saw old friends and made new ones and spent time just wandering around this beautiful city.

Life’s a beach.

We spent the week at my good friend Stacy’s wedding in Charleston, SC.  It was the first time that my husband and I have ever left our children together.  We had a great time (I will share the wedding pictures soon) and was happy to spend some time at the beach.  It is hard to explain what it is like to not live near the beach when you have lived minutes away from one your entire life.  It feels like something is missing.  I love the way the sand feels on my feet and smell of the ocean in my babies hair when we go home.  When we got back to my mother-in-law’s house in NC, we had a nice dinner and headed out to the beach to get our fill before we headed back to California.

It would seem that my children feel the same way about the beach as I do.  Look at the pure joy on their faces.  We stayed until the sun went down.

Date Night

A few weeks ago, Will and I went out on a date.  Just the two of us.  He didn’t know where we were going or what we were doing.  I told him to get in the car, just me and him, and we were heading out for an adventure.  Thankfully, an adventure to a 6 year old can be a simple affair.  For us, it was an early dinner at Capital Dawg and a trip to the Imax to see How to Train a Dragon.  Which, for the record, happened to be an adorable movie.  My favorite part of the evening was watching Will with his gigantic 3D glasses trying to grab the screen.  He had never been to a 3D movie before and it was one of the cutest things that I have ever seen.

I love having my children alone.  I never get to have real one-on-one time with them and it was so nice to spend an afternoon with my son when I could give him my 100% undivided attention.

Happy Easter

The eggs are dyed.  The Easter Bunny has been here.  The treats are made for our Easter brunch with friends.  It has been a great Easter already and it isn’t even here yet.

Happy Easter.

Love,

Bree and the rest of the Hester clan

Airplane

A beautiful night out at the Air Station.  Clay was so happy and excited to be playing on the plane and forklifts he was shaking.  My boy are so spoiled that they get to go to daddy’s work and play on what other little boy’s dream of.
