Hester Holiday Part III

We took the kids on a little overnight holiday adventure to San Fransisco to see the city at Christmastime.  It did not disappoint.  It is a more subtle Christmas than New York City, perhaps because it is not as cold as NYC this time of year?  Which is surprising because San Fransisco is hands-down one the coldest places that I have ever been in my life and I have lived in Canada… anyway, it a beautiful city, one that is in the #2 position of my favorite big cities (Philadelphia takes the #1 spot), and one that I could spend copious amounts of time in.  We took the kids to Point Reyes earlier in the day because I am so missing the ocean.  As much as I truly love living here in Sacramento, I am desperate to be closer to the ocean.  My entire 33 years has been spent minutes away from the beach and it is a part of who I am.  Which is completely strange because I never really loved going to the beach as a kid and I not much a sunbather.  But I miss the comforting smell and the sounds of the beach.   It was worth the long drive and the carsickness that I experienced to get up and back.  In the same day, I also ate a piece of pizza that was so delicious and so close to East Coast pizza that I got teary at the table.  If there were not people around, it very well could have turned into weeping.  Next to the beach, the other thing that I miss the most about my hometown is pizza.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe and lovely and perfect Christmas.

xoxo,

Bree

New Jersey [South Jersey Photographer]

We are having a great time at my parent’s in New Jersey.  I have lots of pictures to show you, but it will have to wait until we get back to Cali.  I have my laptop and it takes me double the time to edit one picture so I will do it when I get back.  Here is one cute one in front of Lucy.  She is famous in these parts.

Lodi [Lodi Family Photographer]

We have had friends and family in town all week.  I love having a full house.  I was super homesick and seeing the people that I love helped me not miss home so much.  One of the other things that I love about having people here is that we like to go on adventures.  After reading an article in Sacramento Magazine we headed to Lodi for some lunch and a little wine tasting.  We had lunch at the Farm Cafe.  So delicious.  Great lunch and a cute little petting zoo/farm for the kids to play with aferwards.  Worth a little road trip.  The tri-tip sandwich was to die for (I had a bite of Wes’s) and they are famous for their tortilla soup (which just happens to be one of my favorite kinds of soup).  I would have taken a picture, but it looked so good and I was hungry and I ate it all before I got around to taking a snap.

Monterey

We spent the long weekend in Monterey… can I say how beautiful this place is?  How nice is was to be near the water?  How much fun we had?  I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

We were incredibly lucky and fortunate to be able to spend one night at the Pebble Beach Resort.  I have been to many amazing hotels and this one takes the cake.  I have never experienced this level of service before… incredible.  They even had toiletries for the baby!!! AMAZING!
