Autumn + Kevan = Happily Ever After [Sacramento Wedding Photographer]

Autumn and Kevan are a gorgeous couple that had a gorgeous wedding. 90 of their closest friends and family came to the Hawkesdene House in Andrews, NC to celebrate this day with them. I spent the weekend with them, knowing no one other than the bride and groom and came home with 88 new friends. Warm and welcoming and full of love for Autumn and Kevan. A beautiful, heartfelt ceremony was performed by Autumn’s childhood pastor. Kevan is a Coast Guard pilot that flies with my husband and I had forgotten how much I love a military wedding. It reminds me that I did not just marry my husband, but the Coast Guard as well.

What do you do when someone that you love and have known forever asks you to document one of the biggest days of their lives? You wipe away the tears because you are so honored that they asked you, and then you panic for the next 4 months wondering if you will do a good enough job! I was so lucky to be a part of Stacy and Andrew’s wedding day. The venue was perfect. So perfect in fact, that Turnbull Mansion is used as a backdrop for the show Army Wives. The food, utterly AMAZING. The people at Fork did such an incredible job. I wonder if they will share their shrimp and grits recipe? It was the best I have ever had. The flowers, breathtaking. Laura at A Bella Bouquet outdid herself. Her staff was wonderful to work with as well. The cake, throwdown-worthy. Peninsula Grill Coconut Cake is a divine being. The band, the Travis Allison Band was lively and kept everyone on their feet all night.

It was a beautiful day, a beautiful weekend, and a beautiful bride. The groom wasn’t so bad either.

Stacy and Andrew, I wish you both all of the happiness in the World and a lifetime of love and laughter.

I cannot wait to document other big events in your life. No pressure or anything.

Kevan + Autumn = Engaged

Two beautiful people, a fun concept, it really could not make my job any more fun. I love when people come to me and are open to anything and have an idea of their own. It is really fun to collaborate and make some really meaningful and beautiful images.

These were inspired by a picture that is very special to me. It was taken about a year ago and it has some of our friends that we lost in it. Although I did not take that picture, I edited it and made it look old and it is one of my favorites. When Autumn came to me and wanted to recreate this type of picture I have to be honest, I was not sure how I felt about it. The original is meaningful to me and I was not sure if I could do it again. I am glad in the end that she pushed me to do it because I really, really love these and in some way they have healed some of my wounds surrounding this airplane. So thank you Autumn and Kevan for making me love the Herc again.

Sorry to digress, back to originally scheduled programming… I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in North Carolina. Autumn is going to be a gorgeous bride don’t you think?

Wehrly-Alongi Wedding Photobooth [Sacramento Wedding Photobooth]

At the wedding that I posted here, we decided to do a photobooth for the guests to play in during the dancing portion of the evening. It was so much fun, we had tons of props for people to play with and people kept coming back time and again to try on something else. I really cannot recommend this enough if you are planning a wedding or any event for that matter. So much fun!

Tone + Kaitlyn = Happily Ever After [Sacramento Wedding Photographer]

Our good friends Tone and Kaitlyn got married this Sunday at the Monte Verde Inn and really it could not have been more beautiful or more perfect. Tone is one of my husband’s best friends. He is also a pilot and he asked Wes to marry them! Wes was incredibly flattered. We love Tone and Kaitlyn and they are our surrogate family here and it was so wonderful to be a part of their day. We wish them all the most happiness in the world and were honored to be a part of their wedding.

Seriously, could Kaitlyn have been any more beautiful? Simply stunning. Tone wasn’t bad looking either.
